Court House Farm Retreat Booking Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all retreats operated by Opal Cloud Ltd (“OC Ltd”), which uses Court House Farm, Portishead, and where needed, additional accommodation at 18 Wellington Terrace, Clevedon and Court Lodge, Portishead. By paying your deposit, you agree to these terms.

1. Reservations & Payments

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place on a retreat.

  • Deposits for retreats are non refundable.

  • Retreats require a minimum number of bookings to run. Once minimum numbers are reached and the retreat is confirmed as viable, the final balance will be requested via email directly to you.

  • Please wait until the final balance request before booking any travel, particularly flights.

  • Payments may be made via direct bank transfer or PayPal invoice ( with paypal fee)

2. Cancellations & Refunds

If you cancel:

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • If you cancel after paying your final balance, a refund is only possible if we are able to fill your place. In that case, we will refund the balance (excluding the deposit).

If OCLtd cancels:

  • If we cancel a retreat in full (e.g., low numbers, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances), you may choose:

    • a full refund of all monies paid (including your deposit), or

    • to transfer your booking to another retreat within 12 months.

If retreat details change:

  • To allow us to run viable events, OCLtd reserves the right to make changes to retreat details (such as venue, teacher, date or schedule). In this case, if guests want to, they may transfer their place to another retreat within 12 months, but refunds will not be offered.

3. Travel & Insurance

  • Please do not book flights or other non-refundable travel until we confirm your retreat is viable and your final payment has been requested.

  • OCLtd cannot be responsible for flight delays, cancellations, missed connections, or other travel-related costs.

  • We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance, ideally including “Cancel for Any Reason” cover.

  • Guests are responsible for ensuring passports, visas, and other documentation are valid for their travel.

4. Health & Safety

  • Court House Farm is a Grade II listed property*, restored to English Heritage standards. Floors and steps are stone or timber and may be uneven; handrails are fitted where possible, but modern accessibility features are limited.

  • While fully compliant with building regulations, guests are asked to take extra care moving around the property, especially on stairs, in lower light, and especially after consuming alcohol.

  • Guests must inform organisers of any medical conditions, (mental or physical), mobility issues, or dietary needs before arrival.

  • Participation in retreat activities (yoga, workshops, or use of the hot tub) is at your own risk.

5. Property Use & Compliance

  • Check-in/out is as per the retreat itinerary unless agreed otherwise.

  • Guest numbers must not exceed the agreed capacity.

  • No smoking indoors; permitted only in designated outdoor areas.

  • Noise restrictions per North Somerset Council apply: no outdoor amplified music or fireworks after 10pm; no outdoor noise after 9pm.

  • Guests must respect the property and report any damage immediately. Repair costs for historic features may be higher than standard due to specialist requirements.

6. Alcohol

  • Alcohol may be provided as part of the retreat experience.

  • Guests are expected to consume alcohol responsibly and remain aware of their own wellbeing and safety.

  • Please take particular care when moving around the property (stairs, uneven floors, outdoor areas, or when using the hot tub) after drinking.

  • OC Ltd cannot be held responsible for accidents, injuries, or issues arising from alcohol consumption.

7. Media

By attending, guests agree that OC Ltd may use photographs or video taken during the retreat for promotional purposes (website, brochures, social media). If you do not wish to feature please make the organisers aware.

8. Liability

  • OCLtd, its owners, staff, and partners are not liable for accidents, injury, illness, death, loss, or damage to property during your retreat.

  • Guests participate at their own risk and are expected to hold appropriate insurance.

  • OCLtd reserves the right to terminate a booking without refund for behaviour that risks property damage, breaches licensing conditions, or disrupts the retreat in anyway

9. Force Majeure

OCLtd is not liable for retreat cancellation or disruption caused by events beyond our control, including fire, flood, natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or government restrictions.

10. Data Protection

Personal information is collected solely for booking administration and communication, in line with UK data protection laws. It will not be shared with third parties except where required by law.

11. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
